U.K. court hears U.S. case to extradite Julian Assange on Espionage Act charges

The extradition trial of Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange began in London today. The U.S. government has accused Assange of 18 charges of hacking and breaches of the Espionage Act for the publish evidence leaked by Pvt. Chelsea Manning that exposed American war crimes in the Middle East. This is the first attempt to use the Espionage Act against a journalist.
