The guidelines would accelerate the adoption of lawful and ethical uses of the technology by both combat and non-combat operations. The Department of Defense (DOD) states that all AI capabilities ’will have explicit, well-defined uses’ subject to ongoing testing.

The policy should read "Thou shalt not use AI in warfare." Putting military thinking into an AI is how you get an apocalypse. Only by teaching them to think in terms of enemy, self-preservation, tactical value, or it being OK to kill humans will we get an AI monster, and using them for war is exactly how to do just that.
