Grenfell fire witnesses will not have their evidence used against them

Witnesses at a public inquiry into the 2017 fire at Grenfell Tower in London which killed 72 people will be immune from prosecution over the oral evidence they give, Britain’s attorney general said. The undertaking will not, however, protect corporate entities, and will cover oral evidence only from individuals — and does not mean they would be immune from prosecution all together.
