152 inmates sue Mississippi officials over ’barbaric’ conditions

Lawyers representing 152 inmates inside the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman filed a lawsuit Wednesday citing denial of adequate medical and mental health care, besides being fed contaminated food. The lawyers adds that the prison suffers chronic staffing shortages that leave inmates in ’constant peril’. A total of 19 people have died in state facilities since Dec 29.

The TVs are only 1080p with no UHD video. It's atrocious!! The internet is slow. The linen is only 200 thread per inch. How are people supposed to live in such conditions? It's almost as bad as a Mexican prison.

After reading the Fox news source, it appears abhorrent conditions exist due to repeated budget cuts to the state penitentiary. Several inmates have been moved to a private prison, and more are expected to be moved. Would be wise to investigate business ties within the private prison industry.
