Face mask prices surge as coronavirus fears grow
The price of disposable face masks is spiking globally amid the coronavirus scare. In the US, on Wednesday, Amazon had sold out different mask varieties. Keepa, which tracks prices of items sold on Amazon, showed that a 10-pack of 3M N95 respirators now costs $99.99 (price a month back $18.20). Amazon alerted merchants about face masks that are ’not in compliance’ with its pricing policies.

Price gouging is what allows everyone to get one or two masks instead of the wealthy buying out the whole stock just to make sure they don't run out, disregarding others.

Just a reminder, wearing a mask is a good idea if you are sick and want to avoid spreading it around. However wearing a mask doesn't protect you from other people's diseases in the slightest. You mostly get infected by getting some on your hands and then from your hands to face and mouth.
