Registered independents outnumber Republicans for first time ever

The WaPo, citing data from Ballot Access News, reported that registered Democrats make up the largest portion of the electorate at 39.66%, followed by independents at 29.09%, and Republicans at 28.87%. Ballot Access News tracks registrations in 31 states that require voters to register by party. WaPo notes that there hasn’t been a large drop in GOP registration since President Trump was elected.

Extremely misleading headline. Attempts to make it look like GOP is losing support when in fact the number of registered independents has increased in direct proportion to the decline of registered Democrats. The number of registered independents is increasing because voters are walking away from the Democratic party. These are moderate folks who've been alienated by an increasingly insane and immoral Democrat party.
