John Lewis joins marchers on Pettus Bridge in Selma

Rep. John Lewis participated in the commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the march across the Edmond Pettus Bridge. Lewis was part of the original 1965 march and had his skull broken by police officers when he along with other activists crossed the bridge as part of a voting rights march to Montgomery. Lewis, diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, greeted marchers at the apex of the bridge.

Maybe Alabamans who are very concerned about history can put statues of marchers next to those of confederate soldiers.
