Coronavirus is the ’gravest threat’ to economy since 2008 crisis, says OECD

The OECD warned on Monday that the coronavirus outbreak is plunging the world economy into its worst downturn since the 2008 financial crisis. The OECD predicts that the global economy is set to grow only 2.4% this year, the lowest since 2009. It added that were the virus to spread across Asia, Europe and North America, global growth could drop as low as 1.5% this year.

That is a big concern. The Coronavirus is more infectious than it is lethal. The greatest danger is that a panic over this virus could wreck economies causing more suffering than the actual virus.
