Apple agrees to settlement for ’Batterygate’ claims

Apple has agreed to pay between $310 million and $500 million to settle class-action litigation stemming from an iPhone battery dispute. If approved, owners of affected iPhones that Apple is alleged to have slowed down will receive $25 for each of the phones they owned.

Well Samsung does that too.They upgrade therir phones to a level meant for newer phones that the old ones cant handle

So they pay a huge fine, well huge by layman’s terms, and will carry in building scheduled redundancy into all their devices. I’m sure the payoff of having people forced to buy new phones more than covers the “fine”.
