Chris Matthews resigns from ’Hardball,’ apologizes for inappropriate comments

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews announced his retirement at the top of his program on Monday amid renewed criticism of his sexist behavior. He also apologized for past comments about women’s appearances. His exit happened after columnist Laura Bassett accused Matthews of behaving inappropriately with her, and after a terse exchange with Elizabeth Warren about believing women in workplace disputes.

I honestly was expecting this. He used to be so Far Left and then the Democratic party said "hold my beer and watch this".

Great to see him go, but I'm sure he'll be replaced with someone far worse...

HaHa! Doesn't seem to be sexist at all, as his remarks are definitely not flattering to her and not designed to get any favors from her. They are, in fact, seriously insulting. :D Case in point: ‘Keep putting makeup on her, I’ll fall in love with her,' That's not a compliment. That's saying she looks like trash without makeup and to keep lacquering it on until she can be seen without making him ill. The rest of her comments indicate she's just a Far Left feminist who can't compete with him.

Excuse is this harrassment? "Laura Bassett, a former HuffPost reporter, revealed last week in GQ that Matthews inappropriately flirted with her in the makeup room on several occasions before she appeared live on his show, complimenting her on her appearance and asking, “Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?” She wrote about the experience in 2017 for HuffPost but chose not to name him at the time for fear of retaliation."

Can't criticize Sanders or it's off to the gulag with you. And dont give me that "he harrassed some woman" bullshit. The far left made an example of him.

Moral of the story, don't compliment women, they might call it sexual harrassment and get you fired. Welcome to the 21st century

Whatever the reason I’m glad to see him go. He’s one of MSNBC’s worst pundits and since they’re all various degrees of awful that’s really saying something.

Don't apologize for dumb things you said in the past. First, we all have said things we wish we hadn't said. Second, you're basically admitting guilt instead of saying "those aren't my current views".
