EU promises financial, border help to Greece over migrant surge

The head of the EU promised Greece $780m in financial aid to help it tackle the migrant crisis at its border with Turkey. In addition, Ursula von der Leyen said, the EU border agency Frontex will deploy a rapid intervention team including an additional 100 guards ( over 500 guards were currently deployed), backed by coastal patrol vessels and helicopters at the Greek border to ’maintain order’.
