US conducts airstrike against Taliban forces; First since peace deal

Less than a week since the signing of a peace deal, the US conducted an airstrike on Wednesday against Taliban fighters in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province. As per US forces, the Taliban fighters were ’were actively attacking an (Afghan National Security Forces) checkpoint. A spokesperson added that the US was committed to peace but called on the Taliban to stop ’needless attacks’.
