Lawmakers reach deal for $8.3 billion total coronavirus response package

US lawmakers on Wednesday unveiled more than $8bn in emergency funding to address the spread of the coronavirus. The White House is expected to back the deal, which is expected to be voted on by the House of Representatives later Wednesday. The agreement would be for $7.8bn in new appropriations, plus another $500 million to replenish an account drained by the initial federal response.
