Aircraft carrier sent to visit Vietnam by US Navy

The USS Theodore Roosevelt of the United States Navy is visiting Vietnam amid tensions with China. This visit will be marked as being a second visit by US Navy ship to the country since the Vietnam War which ended in 1975. The visit is being planned as the United States has identified former foe Vietnam as being a strategic partner in the resource-rich South China Sea.

Vietnam, yet another country that the US is on good terms with due to our mutual distrust of China. Also the only Communist country that America is on good terms with.

Cool port call. Locals are going to be happy too. A carrier port call is about a million dollars a day into the local economy, plus volunteer work that gets done as well.
