Aaron Schock, former Illinois Congressman, comes out as gay

Former Republican Rep. Aaron Schock, 38, who had voted against LGBT protections while in Congress, came out as gay. The 38-year-old Minnesota native said in an Instagram post that his Christian upbringing made him deny his sexual orientation and claims he used politics as a distraction for not coming out sooner. Schock said he would be fighting for LGBT rights now if he was still in office.
