Lebanon to default on $1.2 billion debt

The Lebanese government will suspend payment of $1.2 billion in loans, marking the country’s first-ever default on its sovereign debt. PM Hassan Diab said the country is seeking to restructure its massive debt. The $1.2 billion Eurobond matures on Monday. The default pushes Lebanon’s economy closer toward a financial collapse.

These days Lebanon is being run by Hezbollah, which squanders funds on missiles to attack Israel, on factories to build those missiles, and on attack tunnels into Israel. All in violation of UNSC res. 1701 and to the detriment of Lebanese people. But you won't hear about any of this from "human rights" activists.
