US Surgeon general: Expect more coronavirus deaths, but don’t panic

Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said that Americans should not panic as the number of coronavirus cases increases across the country. ’Initially, we had a posture of containment so that we could give people time to prepare for where we are right now,’ Adams said.’ ’Now, we’re shifting into a mitigation’re going to see more deaths, but that doesn’t mean that we should panic.’

He is right. and despite his weird wording, Trump isn't wrong for remaining calm. Just dont spread panic.

From my understanding, the coronavirus is more aggressive, but less con.tagious than the seasonal flu virus. There is so much misinformation about this virus, and the MSM has some fault in sensationalizing this current event.

oh man.... ppl are freaking out so if your immune system is heavily compromised u have a good chance of dying from it just like elder ppl are also more prone. point is if your in good health don't worry about it to much.

ok so I can't tell if they are horrible in handling this or they're not understanding why they themselves are confusing the people on panicking, The surgeon general says" you're going to see alot of cases and unfortunately you're going to see a lot more deaths but that doesn't mean that we should panic" These 3 things should not be together in the same sentence trying to get people not to panic. THEN to throw further fire onto the panic flames the surgeon general then suggests that communities need to consider cancelling large gatherings and CLOSING SCHOOLS to prevent more infections or death. So to summarize: he's telling us we have try not to panic despite seeing more people get sick and more people dieing while at the same time we as communities have to start considering cancelling large gathering events (like rallies for both the Democrats and Republicans despite both parties not stopping that...risking both the candidates and the people) AND we have to consider closing down schools if neccessary... Yea I don't know why people keep panicking... That's not even including how the Trump administration is lying by blaming Obama and Trump is misleading the people about the virus

The AP article has conflicting statements. The FDA said the high scrutiny of test kits predates the Obama administration and the doctor says it was the Trump administration's policy.

You realize they'll tell you not to panic long after it's time to panic. It's their job.

he doesn't seem especially qualified as an  anesthesiologist. I know most of the Surgeon General's recently are jokes, but they should pick from the best. the response so far has been really like just want the infection to spread. our government sucks, both parties.
