Northern California hit by earthquake measuring 5.8 on Richter Scale

Northern California was jolted by an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale, on Sunday. The earthquake affected people just north of Sacramento, all the way up to the Oregon border. The US Geological Survey also reported that the quake struck nearly 50 miles off the coast of Petrolia.

Wow I think constantly about what would happen to my family and everyone else in CA if a huge earthquake hit and it’s fucking scary. Then I go on this app and see people wishing the state would get hit. This is the only place where I’ve seen people wishing for tragedy to hit other Americans like this, and it’s really sad.

Are you sure it's the Richter scale? Most geologists use the moment magnitude scale now.
