Led Zeppelin wins ’Stairway to Heaven’ copyright case

Led Zeppelin have won a long-running copyright dispute after a US appeals court ruled they did not steal the opening riff in Stairway To Heaven. In a 9-2 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said lead singer Robert Plant’s and guitarist Jimmy Page’s 1971 rock anthem did not infringe ’Taurus,’ written by guitarist Randy Wolfe of the band Spirit.

As one astute commentator on variety noted: "What this article fails to mention - the 9th Circuit Court Appeals now has ten Trump appointees! https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-02-22/trump-conservative-judges-9th-circuit So no surprise that the rulings are getting better." The comment appears to have been deleted. I screenshoted it because I thought it was funny.

I think "sampling" in modern music set a standard for these cases being doomed.

Fucking wannabe thieves..... Is like any of the overweight circle jerking deep state fuck faces on this site suing Hussein Bolt for breach of copyright... Sure they can kinda walk... One foot in front of the other... But what he does is "**fucking stairway to heaven *"
