Italy passes 10,000 coronavirus cases

Italy has now 10,149 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. 631 people have died. As per officials, 45% of those dead were aged 80-89, 32% were in their 70s, 14% were over 90, 8% were in their 60s and 2% were aged 50 to 59. The country currently has imposed measures to try to stop the spread of the virus with a national lockdown in place.

So 100% of the people that have died from the virus in Italy were over 50 years old. Unless the percentages were rounded up from under 0.5. And with increasing age you’re increasingly likely to die from the virus.
