Trump’s company paid bribes to reduce property taxes, assessors say

According to a Rolling Stone magazine report, the Trump Organization paid bribes, through middlemen, to NYC tax assessors to lower its property tax bills for several Manhattan buildings in the 1980s and 1990s. The report was based on the interviews of five former tax assessors and city employees, as well as a former Trump Organization employee.

Sounds like NYC needs to keep an eye on its tax assessors. I believe it's illegal for city officials to accept bribes.

Well gee, a bunch of people from the past making claims that cannot be verified... seems that the Democrats haven't learned a damned thing from the past 3 years.

so here's the deal..... anyone who has a lot of money and i.mean a lot 9 times out of 10 they are finding loop holes in the system to not pay taxes. people of this caliber do this bcs they know they could get away with it. tell me you wouldn't try and do the same and if you don't believe that then I'm sorry you just need to do yourself and everyone else a favor and just go off yourself. it's called using logical thinking.

Hiring a consultant to evaluate your business' tax standing and communicate with city officials on why certain taxes are too high or unnecessary... Now qualifies as "hiring a middleman to bribe city officials to reduce your taxes".

Putting aside the lack of evidence for yet another accusation I would not care even if true. That goes for anyone who would do or has done this. Meh
