The main challenger to Israeli PM Netanyahu, former military chief Benny Gantz has received an official mandate from the president to try to form the country’s next government. Gantz has the support of 61 of parliament’s 120 legislators.
Two things are going to happen here:
- If Gantz forms a government, it will likely not survive for more than a year.
- The foreign media supporting Gantz (mostly in opposition to Netanyahu) will turn on him quickly once they find out that Gantz's handling of foreign affairs will mirror those of his predecessor!
