Senate clears 77-day extension of surveillance powers

The Senate on Monday approved a 77-day extension of the several major surveillance powers under the FISA that had expired Sunday night as part of a deal. The three provisions of USA Freedom impacted by the Senate extension are the ’business records’ provision under Section 215, as well as the roving wiretap and lone wolf authorities in the FISA law. It still needs to pass the House.

Multiple hundreds of story’s about corona...but this is the only one I’ve seen (so far) referencing the re-up of the patriot act and the ramrodding of the earn it act...both of which are far more devastating than anything corona Chan could hope to achieve
