Hundreds of inmates flee Brazil jails amid coronavirus lockdown

Hundreds of prisoners broke out of four Brazilian jails in the Sao Paulo state after local officials canceled their Easter holidays because of fears they could bring the coronavirus back with them upon their return. Inmates were also complaining about restrictions to visitations, also aimed at containing the virus. 174 inmates have been recaptured, but more than 1000 inmates are still on the loose
