Laura Ashley set to become first retail casualty of crisis

Laura Ashley is set to become the first retail casualty of the coronavirus crisis, putting 2,700 jobs at risk. The company acknowledged Tuesday that it had filed intentions to appoint administrators. Laura Ashley blamed its troubles on a ’significant’ drop-off in trade with no end to the coronavirus crisis in sight.

Calling bullshit. Shops like these have been failing on the high street for years. entire shopping centres are shutting down and the picnic in the UK has been literally two weeks. Either they mismanaged the company and this is a good excuse to shut down without taking any blame, or they failed to compete with the digital market.

A collapse so quick should be blamed on the company for not having any sort of contingency plan. Way to push off blame for bad business.
