Washington works on stimulus packages to offset economic impacts of COVID-19

U.S. President Donald Trump urged the Senate to pass the stimulus bill that the Democratic-controlled House passed last week. He also proposed $850 billion of stimulus measures including $500 billion in a payroll tax cut. The Democrats have additional proposals that are more focused on aid to hospitals, unemployment insurance and food aid. Both measures include assistance for airlines.

So the response is we're just going to continue to just give bucketfuls money to the wealthy and corporations and not anything to the consumers that actually support the economy. 70% of the US economy is supported by the average consumer not the wealthy. Until we start putting money in the average consumer's hands these attempts will continue to fail.
