America’s big three automakers close doors due to COVID-19

Detroit’s car companies agreed to suspend factory production in the U.S., Mexico and Canada to limit the spread of COVID-19, a stoppage that will affect hundreds of thousands of factory employees. The companies have agreed to treat the virus-related shutdown as a temporary lay-off, in addition providing employees with extra pay to supplement unemployment benefits.
