US, UK short of ventilators

Britain is facing a massive shortage of ventilators needed to treat critically-ill patients suffering from coronavirus. ’England is very poorly equipped’, said Andreas Wieland, CEO of Hamilton Medical in Switzerland, the world’s largest ventilator maker. The same concern is within the US. Estimates suggest only about 200,000 mechanical ventilators, significantly lower than projected demand.
