Oil surges record 24% after Trump says he’ll get involved in global price war

Oil prices surged Thursday, rebounding from sharp losses Wednesday, after President Donald Trump said he would get involved in the global price war between OPEC and its allies at an ’appropriate time.’ US West Texas Intermediate crude gained 23.8%, or $4.85, to settle at $25.22 per barrel. Brent crude rose 14.4%, or $3.59, to settle at $28.47 per barrel.
