BOE cuts rates to 0.1%

The Bank of England cut interest rates to a new historic low of 0.1% on Thursday amid UK’s growing Covid-19 economic crisis. The central bank will also buy £200bn more UK financial assets, restarting its QE policy. It follows a 0.5% cut in int rates on 12 March by BOE, to coincide with the Budget, which took rates from 0.75% to 0.25%, the previous record low.
