The death toll from the new coronavirus has topped 10,000 across the world with a total number of 246,494 known cases. The number of deaths in Italy has now surpassed China. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has issued a state-wide lockdown order. Cases across the US now stand at 14,366 with 217 deaths. Oxford University researchers are racing to make a vaccine available by end of year.
