Malaria drug’s effectiveness against COVID-19 ’anecdotal’: Dr. Anthony Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leading infectious disease expert said that evidence that a malaria drug might be effective in treating COVID-19 is ’anecdotal’, and requires more research. Mr. Fauci was made these comments at the White House on Friday, during a Coronavirus Task Force briefing. President Trump had earlier expressed hope that the drug could be a solution.

That's literally the same thing, one says it's a " potential" the others saying there isnt any miracle drugs, that doesnt remove the drugs potential.

The man is incapable of just telling the truth. Thank christ for Fauci to straighten out all the lies by our president in all these briefings.

Dr. Fauci's probably the only guy worth listening to in these press conferences. He just dismissed Trump's "fairly effective" positive spin to a vaccine very very frankly in todays conference

Yes if you listen to what they actually said it's the same message. Trump ways they are going to run studies and has potential. It will probably help but no it's not going to be a miracle. It will only be effective for those showing severe symptoms it's not a cure or be used to prevent infection. It even lower immune response in some ways. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chloroquine

unfortunately no known miracle cure for TDS, it appears to be genetic and has negative correlation with mental acuity.

What's with this " miracle drug" comment. Trump said it had potential that's it that's not an incorrect statement, nor does it imply it's a miracle drug.

The two men being referenced in this story are literally working together and are in agreement. The are referencing each other's words in the briefings, and handing the floor to each other for their respective expertises. One is a scientist, the other a businessman. When you ask a scientist "will this drug work?" he will say, "there's no guarantee, it seems to be working so far, and the side effects are minimal, but we can't be certain until more testing is done." When you ask a businessman the same question, he'll say "We've seen good results" NEITHER MAN IS LYING. gracious, people are so damn hell bent to hate Trump, that they're ignoring reality to the point of insanity!

He says it was an uncontrolled test, which is patently false, it was a controlled experiment from a global leader in epidemiology with 100% success rate after 6 hrs from 40 subjects who were diagnosed with the Kung Flu

If I am correct the malaria drug isnt what kills the virus. It agitates a receptor on your cells that allows normally hard to absorb zinc into cells slowing or stoping viral reproduction. I would like input on this but that's how it works if I understand It correctly. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
