NASA fixes Mars lander by having it hit itself with a shovel

NASA scientists have managed to fix the Mars rover by getting it to hit itself with a shovel. The ’InSight’ lander got stuck while trying to dig a 15-inch (38 cm) heat-measuring probe into the soil. This happened because the soil was much lumpier than expected. The InSight mission hopes to help scientists understand how similar Mars’ core is to the Earth’s.

If you have been following this story for the past few months, then you know this solution is a lot less silly than it sounds at first. Edit: There is actually a lot wrong with this story that I hope they fix. At time of writing the title and image say it was the Mars Rover that hit itself but if you read the stories they are about InSight not Curiosity. Also InInSight didn't hit itself with a shovel, InSight pressed down on its deployed Mars thermal probe to help it dig back into the surface of Mars. I get that saying that it "hit itself with a shovel" gets more views but it isn't very accurate.
