Amazon raises overtime pay for warehouse workers

Amazon has raised overtime pay for associates working in its US warehouses. As per the announcement, hourly workers at Amazon’s US warehouses will receive double pay after 40 hours for overtime, up from the 1.5-times rate, from March 15 through May 9. On Monday, Amazon hiked the minimum hourly rate for associates to $17 from $15 and announced plans to hire 100,000 workers.

I work at a grocery store and they bumped our pay temporarily. Not worth dealing with the people who get mad that we are either out of stuff.....like duh you fukin idiot...or mad because they can only get 2 at a time. Not to mention everything is closed....not like the money is useful anyway.

Amazon is still a garbage company that treats its warehouse workers like slaves.

The headline on this doesn't seem to relate directly to the story. The story is about safety concerns. The headline is about doubling pay. Good on Amazon for doubling it pay. They should also do all they can to keep workers healthy

keep in mind, in California the workers receive overtime after 8 hours a day, double time after 10. California takes care of the workers.
