38 - tested positive in New York City jails, including Harvey Weinstein

At least 38 people have tested positive for coronavirus inside NYC jails. Jacqueline Sherman, the interim chairwoman of the NYC Board of Correction, sent a letter to state and city officials on Saturday urging them to release inmates at higher risk of dying from an infection. Of the 38, 21 are inmates, 12 are Department of Corrections employees and five are Central Health Services workers.

If you let them out they would mostly just ignore the social distancing laws and get it anyways.

The should just move the older ones. Probably the majority are young.

This all sounds too convenient ! Release prisoners . Where to ? To infect others ! They should be quarantined in prison !!

Scary scary stuff. I think in these days the threat of being imprisoned is just as bad as a threat against my person (body). We should avoid jail time for minor offenses at all costs.

Yes , our society insisted on their incarceration , which makes them wards of the state. So let's make an effort at doing the right thing and get them adequate treatment and isolation til cured . Simply do the right thing .

You'd think jails were among the safest places from exposure

There were three illegals that were picked up in AZ. All three were symptomatic but they did not test since the tests would be using tax dollars for illegal aliens. They were put in with. about 50 others and one toilet. I guess that’s putting warped ideology over health of border enforcement staff and immigration court workers.

and barr wants to put people in there with no trial.

lol "top security". I wonder what toilet paper is going to cost in the jail market? 😬

Aren't jails tightly packed and overcrowded? This cannot go well...

I saw a prisoner get walked into the hospital waiting room as I was waiting to get my ankle looked at. All four of them, the three guards and prisoner had masks on so I think they should make sure no prisoners have the virus

Not smart to let them out.

Kelli 1 months

Don't let any of them out now. Test the older ones and sick ones and don't allow visitors.
