Indians bang pots and pans to applaud health workers fighting coronavirus

Indians on Sunday came out of their self-imposed 14-hour curfew and applauded the health workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic in the 1.30 billion-plus populated country, banging their pots and pans, ringing bells and blowing conch shells. Indians stood in their doorways and on balconies at 5 pm, heeding PM Narendra Modi’s call to express gratitude to those who have been on the front line.
