Scientists identify 69 drugs to test against COVID-19

Researchers have identified nearly 70 drugs and experimental compounds that may be effective in treating the coronavirus. The list was prepared after hundreds of researchers embarked on a study of the genes of the coronavirus, also called SARS-CoV-2. One drug on the list, chloroquine, has been touted by President Trump as a possible cure based on ’anecdotal evidence’.

But I thought Trump was a big dumb dumb for suggesting chloroquine could and has been used successfully to treat the virus? Has media lied again?

He didn't say it was a cure. He said it could help treat the virus. I wish these "reporters" would quit lying.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rogs__2AI0w A chinese scientist Dr. Tu had found a cure for malaria but extracting a specific plant. The Chinese government would not allow for the medicine to be produced for over a decade. I've read more in the past but it's nearly all been deleted from the web (China is NOTORIOUS for doing this to cover up) Here is an excerpt though you confirm this: "Tu Youyou discovered that a low-temperature extraction process could be used to isolate (without dissociating the sensitive molecule of Artemisinin) the pure substance. She was not allowed to publish the results, considered as a military secret. Finally, after the death of Mao, scientific publications were allowed. Results were published in the Chinese Medical Journal in 1979 and were met with skepticism at first. In the late 1990s, the well known pharmaceutical company Novartis filed a new Chinese patent for a combination treatment, providing the first artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) at reduced prices to the World Health Organization (WHO)." https://www.researchgate.net/publication/330556359_Discovery_of_Antimalarial_Drug_Artemisinin_by_Tu_Youyou_An_insight_into_the_challenges_of_carrying_research_during_the_upheavals_of_the_Cultural_Revolution_in_China
