COVID-19 at a glance: 394K cases with over 17K deaths; Olympics postponed

The COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating, the WHO said Monday. So far, over 394,000 cases have been recorded across 196 countries, with over 103,000 recovered. Italy now has 63,927 cases, followed by the US with 46,168 cases. After days of deliberation, the Olympics have now been postponed for 12 months. A spokesperson for WHO warned that the US has the potential to be ’epicentre of outbreak’.

When you remember that we’ve got a couple billion on the planet, the casualty figures don’t look so bad. I know it is likely to get much worse, but if we can choke it off with isolation/quarantines I think we could avoid breaching the million marker.

Too much paranoia news on this. more cases more deaths etc. more people die from starvation or from the flu then the Coronavirus. approximately over 6,000 people in the US have already died from the flu this year, not the Coronavirus.
