New York, New Jersey coronavirus ’attack rate’ is 5 times higher than rest of US

New York and New Jersey are seeing coronavirus attack rates 5 times higher than other parts of the country, said Dr Deborah Birx, White House Covid-19 response coordinator. She added that the NYC has an attack rate -- percentage of population that has a disease-- of 1 in 1000. She said 28% of the specimens submitted in the city have tested positive, compared to less than 8% in rest of the country.
