FDA allows COVID-19 treatment using blood from those recovered

The FDA has updated its rules around use of experimental treatments for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to include use of ’convalescent plasma’. This has been approved only on a case-by-case basis, and only in extreme cases. The technique involves taking antibodies from the blood of a person who has survived the COVID-19 illness and transferring them into a person infected.
