3 US Navy sailors aboard Theodore Roosevelt test positive for coronavirus

Three US Navy sailors aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt in the Philippine Sea have tested positive for COVID-19. They have been airlifted to a Defense Department hospital in the Pacific. The Navy has been conducting forensics on the people who had contact with the sailors on board the 5,000-person carrier, and they have been asked to self-quarantine.

My brother and I were just talking about this issue. Both of us are veterans and worked on carriers. The USN must be seriously concerned about outbreaks on ship.

Thankfully most servicemen are of good general health and in low risk age groups. A naval vessel is like a floating barracks/dorm so the virus will spread, and the real concern is the readiness of the fleet.
