Senator Bernie Sanders on Wednesday threatened to delay the $2tr coronavirus relief bill in Senate if four Republican senators did not drop their opposition to a provision of a $600 per week in the bill for unemployment insurance for up to four months. The four Republicans were insisting a vote to cap the aid as they thought the provision could encourage companies to lay off workers.
Sanders is still being an idiot.
As if these companies won't start doing that anyways. No one is going it, the economy is at a standstill damn near.
Senators Graham (R-S.C.), Sasse (R-Neb.) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.) think the coronavirus stimulus bill offers too much relief for people who will end up unemployed due to Covid-19. They want to reduce unemployment benefits in the bill. If they don’t stand down and let the bill pass as is, Bernie Sanders(I-Vt.) is willing to also hold the bill until stronger conditions are imposed on the $500 Billion corporate welfare fund. Bernie still fighting for the people <3. #StandDown #PassTheBillAsIs
