India announces bailout for the poor

India has announced a $22 billion bailout for the country’s poor suffering the most amid the lockdown given the COVID-19 outbreak. The package includes free food and cash transfers. Barclays has estimated that the 21 day total shutdown cost to India would be around $120 billion, or 4 per cent of the country’s GDP.

For all the Bernie Bros and AOC jerkoffs this isn't socialism. This is a one time action. It's not going to "even the playing field" and they wouldn't be able to do it without working class tax payers. The very poor in a place like India dont pay taxes. Do you see how this would bankrupt a system where not everyone works?
