Ford to resume production at some North American plants in April

Ford Motor Co said on Thursday that it planned to restart production at some plants in North America as early as April 6, in a sign of hope for U.S. automakers as the industry grapples with the damages from the coronavirus pandemic. They will continue to assess public health conditions as well as supplier readiness and will adjust plans if necessary.

Certainly, we can come up with creatives ways to get back to work AND be safe. We can wear a face mask at work, use gloves, sit by open windows, whatever it takes. I just can not believe there are only two choices.

I can see doing it since 1) there is still driving to do and trucks that need replacing, and 2) it helps to restore a sense of normalcy. But they have factories that are full of technology. Can they not make something more relevant to resolving the crisis? Such as ventilators? Surely no one will tell me that Ford is not capable of it.
