Google scraps April Fools’ jokes this year

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Google is canceling its April Fools’ Day jokes this year. As per reports, the annual tradition was scrapped because execs feared the pranks would appear to be in poor taste. ’This year, we’re going to take the year off from that tradition out of respect for all those fighting the COVID-19 pandemic’, Google’s head of marketing Lorraine Twohill wrote to employees.

Most companies are likely to do the same. Somewhat a shame since it's a little distraction from the rest of this mess a little bit of normalcy

I dont remember a single one of their jokes. Except them being one.

That is a shame. Humor is what the world needs right now. Of course, no matter what they do, someone, somewhere will connect it to COVID 19 in some way.

They couldn't make a little joke about COVID-19 passing from humans to computers and what people should do to prevent them infecting their computers.
