The UK banking industry has warned of ’smishing’ scams as criminals try to exploit the COVID-19 pandemic. Smishing, UK Finance said, is when criminals use text messages impersonating other organizations in a bid to get personal and financial information or money. Of particular concern was a technique called ’spoofing’ which makes a message appear in a chain of texts alongside genuine messages.
Ironically, if you click any links in a scam email you might get a virus
