Amazon workers to demand closure of Staten Island facility for cleaning

Amazon workers working in the Staten Island facility are demanding a closure for a thorough cleaning. They also want unsafe working conditions at the facility remedied. The workers are demanding an increase in protective gear as well as hazard pay during the coronavirus pandemic. A walkout has been planned by nearly 100 of the Amazon workers on Monday.

Amazon usually plays it clever and brings temp agency into play, so it's workers are usually not officially employed by Amazon, which makes thrm able to drive wages to minimum level, while making all benefits to nothing. There is just a little admin group in charge of hiring and firing and scheduling people, and people come and go (get fired or just leave) usually within weeks on average. That's the price of your cheap quick online shopping experience. Oh by the way, didn't mention, the stuff is made in labour and slavery arrangements in China.

I'd say these are reasonable demands... For once a protest is actually founded on something.
