South China Sea: US military operations bringing China to brink of war

The South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative’s annual report claims the US has intensified its military operations in the region’s waters. It claimed US had conducted eight so-called freedom of navigation operations - in which US vessels sail within 12 nautical miles of land claimed or occupied by China - last year, which was three more than in 2018.

It's only a matter of time before China invades Taiwan, and the US has to decide to either honour their deal with Taiwan and come to their aid or leave them to be consumed by China.

China would have to be the one to start the war. I rather doubt that they are that foolish. Neither China or America has any interest in starting a war with each other so a war between the two is unlikely.

Taiwan will eventually be subsumed by china. It already is by fiat. The more important issue is the south china sea. Like the red sea and the panama canal, there is strategic value in maintaining open waters in that area. Dont forget there is also a simulator threat occurring at the north pole by arctic nations vying for The resource rich arctic.
