US death toll tops 4,000; fatalities predicted to peak in mid-April

The coronavirus death toll in the US on Tuesday surged passed 4,000, surpassing China’s. With an overall total of 188,000 infections, NY is the hardest hit state with 75,000 cases and over 1,700 deaths— 1000 of those are in the NYC. According to a University of Washington model, in the best case scenario, the deaths in the US will peak in 2 weeks with a total of 84,000 deaths by the end of summer.
