Native American tribe set to lose reservation status for more than 300 acres

The Mashpee Wampanoag tribe is set to lose reservation status for more than 300 acres in Massachusetts. A notification regarding the same was released by the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs. This has raised fears among other tribes that they could meet the same fate under the administration of President Donald Trump.

Eliminate all "reservations" and treat them as citizens with equal rights and responsibilities.

Exactly right. It's long past time that American Indians are treated the same as other Americans.

What the hell? This is the last thing we should be doing. No tribes should lose any more land, even if the history of some land transfers to Natives is sketchy. Goodness knows it has been sketchy in the other direction. And those who support borders and ethnic continuation should agree.
